Are there any other movies similar to Love Exposure?

I really love this film and I've watched it at least 3 times this week. Are there any other films similar to this one?

Check out some of Sion Sono's other films. I became familiar with him through Suicide Club, which is also a good movie. I just saw Love Exposure tonight and it is by far the best film I have seen from him, though.

I love Sono's other films, in particular 'Strange Circus'.....very emotional and frightening too. Of course the much misunderstood 'Suicide Circle' is worth getting hold of. Just a film that keep evolving, branching off, but always with focus.

Other stuff of varying quality from Japan would be Survive Style 5+, Funky Forest, The Bird People of China, the excellent Tokyo Sonata, Swallowtail, Blue Spring (one of my faves), 9 Souls, Dolls, etc....

"Gran'pa was always tha best...."

Great suggestions, suspiria! Because of the religious/faith aspect, I'd add Secret Sunshine (South Korea).

Thanks for the mini-list! I'm always on the lookout for interesting Asian films to watch and I've seen most of the more well-known (in the west, at least) releases. I'm working my way through Sion's movies, with my favorites so far being Love Exposure and Cold Fish.

Movies I've seen in 2013: http://www.imdb.com/list/y_yus8XKGkE/

Really, the closest film to this that Sono has made is probably Noriko's Dinner Table, a kind-of sequel to Suicide Club that examines the cult behind the first film. It takes itself a lot more seriously, though.

"A Clockwork Orange" for sure.

as for Clockwork Orange "O Lucky Man" maybe

Can't really say, similar... but this reminded me of other Jap films like:

• Otakus In Love
• Train Man

I second "Train Man" and "Survive Style 5+" and would add "A Taste of Tea". Nothing is really like "Love Exposure" but these films will also leave you perplexed and amazed.

A Taste of Tea was excellent
