Finally! A great, up to date show for my 7 yo to watch. I love the character, my daughter gets to build a fabulous vocabulary and we get to watch an empowered "role model". The fact that a couple of my favorite comedians are doing voices (Chris Parnell & Patton Oswalt) is icing and the cherry on top! Now if Arthur could just come back consistently; guess I better start donating to PBS!
Yeah, but Sid is written for pre-school children! It's written on their level, but never seemed condescending to me. It took it a few weeks to grow on me, but after you get used to it, it's freaking adorable!
Like another poster, I have no kids and I am well past the cartoon watching age but gotta love Wordgirl. Cool little theme song, great voice actors, and clever writing. I actually find myself laughing at some of these jokes that happen between the villans and word girl. And this may be the little girl inside me but Capt.Huggyface is freaking cute (right down to the name). I guess I better donate to PBS now.
My nine-year old loves the humor in this show, but my question is that in one episode with Chuck the Evil Sandwich Guy trying to "go straight" his boss, Mr. Callahan (I think that's the right spelling) sounds an awful lot like Peter Graves, but I don't find any information on this character or bit of casting anywhere.
Am I off base here, or is that really Peter Graves?

Are you pondering what I'm pondering? I think so, Brain, but we're already naked.
I'm 18, and I watch this cartoon! Clever writing and fun to watch!
I'm proud to say I'm well above the cartoon watching age but still have enjoyed watching Fairly OddParents, SpongeBob, WordGirl, Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, Yogi Bear, Danny Phantom, Scooby Doo Where Are You?, etc. ever since I was a kid!
The great thing about cartoons done really well is that they're timeless. I still love watching cartoons with my daughter, but I think that even if I didn't have a kid I still would. I used to watch Sailor Moon all the time when I was a young adult. Once hooked on cartoons, it's hard to stop.
Speaking of which...refer to the sig quote.

Thank you PBS for giving us one of the best shows we have seen in awhile! I loved the fact that this show is full of witty humor while teaching kids about various words. Sure, we still got Arthur and Wild Kratts is pretty good, but this show is really memorable at the moment!
