Anybody out there?

Hello? Is any still alive out there?

No remorse, no regret

Five years later... Are you still there? :)

reply

Yup...I am here...the remaining few..ha!

I'm here too... looking for comments about this movie but finding nothing! I hated the ending, I guess I'm one of those who like things plain and simple and nicely wrapped up, I'm thinking she must have been a ghost, but ghosts can't attack you or be seen........

Just watched. Ending was crap. IF she was a ghost then I would have to refer back to an X File episode (after Duchovny left) where a family's son is found years 10? later & he hadn't changed at all. Was still small, etc. But he didn't talk. His blood work was fine. At end of episode they found remains & he disappeared and of course Doggit was very confused like the audience and like us here.

I'm watching this with my husband now and just a few minutes ago I asked him whether he remembered that X-Files episode! I've been pretty sure that she is dead since she first showed up at the house looking as though she had just crawled out of a muddy grave...

reply

Do you remember the name of that episode? Or what season it was in? Then again it had to be a later season if Robert Patrick was there. So that's a start.

Years late, but here it is:

The X-Files: Season 8, Episode 5 "Invocation" (3 Dec. 2000)

"Doggett and Scully once again butt heads on their latest X-File which involves a boy who has returned after being missing for ten years but still appears to be seven years old, the age he was the day he was abducted."

Apparently they can. Explains why they always say she smells like dirt. On the other hand, it could have all been some sort of vision for him. Him knowing she was dead, but thinking she was still alive when the bad guys buried her. He might have been the one that actually killed all those other people. Would have liked to know if the wife wondered where she went again, after returning. She actually looked remarkably well considering what they actually did, just a few streams of blood running down her face? She'd be a lot more messed up.

I think that the daughter somehow got into the mothers body and took revenge.

This leaves opening gaps like:

How was she in the paper as found?
How did she make love to BF?

I really don't understand it either. Just hoping others had some thoughts about it :)

reply

I think it was her. She came back for revenge, something like Eric Draven in The Crow. Once she got her revenge she probably went back to the grave. She left her BF the necklace and left her dad knowing she knew what he did.

I agree.

It's a supernatural story.

Kind of amazes me how some folks on these boards think that supernatural stories have to have some kind of rules: e.g., ghosts can only act like 'this' or 'that'.

Logical consistency is one thing in a film. I can understand wanting that.

But with supernatural tales, *anything* is possible.

After all, that's why it's called 'supernatural'.

For what appears to be a low budget independent, I thought this movie wasn't all that bad.

If someone likes a rather dark tale, I think it's worth a watch.

I just watched on Netfix. Reminded me of They Came Back/ The Returned. Only suckier. I wish she would have offed the dad. For his hideous acting alone.
