What is UP with the sound on this?

Come on people...REALLY!?

The sound is HORRIBLE on this video! I can't believe that anyone PROFESSIONAL would allow this very sophomoric sounding mix to go unchecked into a release form.

Her voice is so far back behind everything else it's frankly annoying. Sounds like my 10 year old nephew mixed it. I realize (because I'm a professional audio engineer) that they have to mix for the house FIRST. But in any REAL professional recording of this type all the channels should have been recorded and remixed in a studio and sync'd to the video. I can't believe that they couldn't have afforded at the very least to patch an ADAT or Pro Tools rig into the FOH mixer. OR in a LIVE situation they should have used a seperate mixer just for the broadcast video and a B.E. worth his salt would have had her sounding like a CD.

So why then are we subjected to this CRUD?!

If I was Miley or her management I would have been horribly embrassed to listen to a sound so aweful. NO way this should have been released this way.

This is in NO WAY an attack on Miley. I think that she is a decent artist and there are a few of her songs that I really DO like. Generally she appeals to a younger audience, and that just isn't me. BUT, I appreciate the fact that she actually CAN sing well. I just wish she'd have LISTENED to this before she let it go out sounding like THIS!

Bad musicians, bad mixing, bad acoustics, bad singer. That's why it sounds that bad.

that's good to hear. I hheard it the exact same way you described and thought something was wrong with my surround system, since I re-checked all connections and settings and all connections and settings were correct and her voice sounded so far back from the music when I playe it for my nieces.

I even tried changing settings several times to several different settings. Nothing worked. Her voice wwas still so behind the music. even when disconnecting the surround sound system and going directly to the tv. Even to a different tv. Even with a different dvd player.
