Too much movie at the end of the metaphor?

I thought the first half of this movie was great but then it died off taking itself too seriously and beating the metaphor to death. It would have been much better to keep the humor going all the way through. It seemed to written more like a one hour TV show rather than a feature length movie.

Well, yes and no. The film does slow down a bit in the second half and takes it time during the phase of the story in Russia. However, it regains its haunting tone toward the end and finishes with style. While its far from perfect, I found this film entertaining and thoroughly fascinating.
