Be thankful they didn't have a modern couple reenacting the romance

All too often this kind of romance begins in modern times as a young couple find old letters or a diary telling of the love affair. Flashback to France in 1910. while telling the story of the lovers, the young modern couple begin their own reenactment and the story is intercut between the two. This framing device has been done to death so many times that it has become an annoying cliche. I thought it was slow and tedious enough without adding that. The leads were miscast. Richard Madden would have done a better job of Stephen and the Olsen twin look alike was FAR too young. When she mentioned that she had been married for eight years my first thought was that she must have been about 12.
