Question about Uncle and Father

When Sayra got off the train, did they wait for her and got on another train?

I ask because when they got caught by border control, there were only 3 of them (the uncle, father, and random guy). Where were the other immigrants?

If they did wait for her and got on a new train, then I hate Sayra even more becuase shes the reason they got caught.

Also, the uncle did eventually cross at the end, and why she she leave her uncle for this guy.

Sin Nombre, more like Sin Inteligente

Actually, the uncle got deported. One of the final scenes in the movie shows the uncle back in Honduras starting out on the whole journey again.

I didn't realize the uncle was an uncle until the end of the film. I thought he looked too young to be her uncle. He looked more like her older brother. Either way, phenomenal film.

I agree. Pretty sad and immature that she left family for a stranger who is being hunted, putting ALL their lives at risk. And look what happened. I imagine she will live with that burden forever. How is she going to explain that she abandoned the father and uncle to her sisters/family in NJ? I don't think the writer really thought this out well. That was in now way a happy ending.

But if their goals was to get to the US, then it WAS a happy ending. Had she stayed with her family, she would never have made it. She might have even been killed, as her father was. It was only because she went off with Casper that she made it to the US. Besides, it was her destiny to get across alone. I believe the Shaman woman said something along those lines about her future. Her family in NJ would have been saddened that she had to leave the others behind, but they would have understood that under the circumstances and would have welcomed her in their lives. I also got the impression at the end that her brother would try to cross again, so perhaps he would have made it the next time.

First off, the success rate of making it over isn't very high, so her family would be happy that at least she made it over.

Secondly, she was told by the psychic, who she obviously put faith in, that she wouldn't get to the U.S. in God's hands (her father and uncle, who were good guys), but in the Devil's (Willy). There was a reason she followed him and it wasn't because she was stupid, but because it was very clear to her that the path she needed to take was with him. And, she was right.
