Did Molly ever explain what happened to Sam? I watched the first season mini- series and the second. Either I missed it or it wasn't mentioned. Also does Lavender ever return?

In the first episode in one of her movie fantasies, she implies that Sam was becoming scared of his new non-homeless life and became estranged to the point he started sleeping outside in a sleeping bag, so they broke up and his story apparently ended.

I've also wondered about that because it was such a huge part of the show...and what happened to her friend Cricket. Those two story lines were such huge parts of the book and mini-series then they disappeared for the season.

The husband re-cast was also a bad choice, imho. The first guy was clearly not worthy of her. New guy not sure yet but suddenly he's taller and has a full head of hair :)

Just started re-watching the mini series (2007) and was wondering what happened to Cricket in the series.
