presentation sucks

the story seems pretty cool but the presentation sucks ass. This comic-book-style is boring as hell. They already have the models and all... Why dont they just do some motion capturing... this show has potential to be good but right now i cant watch it and be immersed...

It feels like you're watching cutscenes from a videogame. :S

Wouldn't motion capture mean that you are hiring actors etc.? I don't know because I haven't learned much about motion cap.

I'd prefer to see it transformed into a live-action series (with Matthew Fox as Shoemaker!) rather than into a motion-capture animated series. I feel that "Afterworld" deserves such a treatment, but I don't see that happening for a long while, for it resembles other post-apocalyptic representations such as "I Am Legend" and "Children of Men", of which some people feel we've seen enough for the time being--and especially in the context of a global economic crisis. You don't want people to be anymore depressed and/or skeptical about the world they live in, do you? Poor souls... :P

I wouldn't say that the comic-book style is "boring as hell", but the whole package certainly sticks too much to a bookish approach: the show is pretty much Shoemaker reading from his journal, whose pages we get to see at the start of each episode--as if the voice wasn't enough to make us understand that he's reading! I think they went for that approach for three main reasons: 1. to focus more on the story-telling process than the actual character interactions; 2. money; 3. money.

Above all, the episodes NEED to be longer: 3 minutes is not enough to get most people hooked on. The length could be and is a huge turn-off for many.
