What gives with the Jimmy Carter graphic?

Why did they want to get the Jimmy Carter graphic off the screen? All I saw was a burring(?) of the eye area. What am I missing?

reply

They forgot to remove the "sexual offender" graphic from the previous sketch.

reply

Oh! I somehow missed that. Thanks!

Even though Harrison Ford's character explained it as we have?

Something very similar happened in real life on a news show I edited.
The director who switches pictures on and off the air was NOT bothering to read his copy of the script the newscaster was reading. He got one picture off for 2 or 3 stories. He put up a picture of a prominent local judge at a courthouse reception with his arm around a female courthouse employee and a silly wierd expression on his face. The director flashed this picture up on screen as the newscaster said, "a 37 year man was charged with criminally assaulting--" our conservatively-managed station did not allow use of the word "rape" on-air in those days- "criminally asssaulting a young mother in front of three children." I ran to the director and screamed in his ear, Cut it off! Take it off! Take down the picture! He couldn't see why I was upset. I was just the newscast editor. HE was running the broadcasting part of the news show. That was HIS job. Why was I interfering?

He hasn't been President for 12 years now.

Get over it.

Only belly-laugh in the movie. Of course, Slick Willie would have been perfect for that, but no one in Hollywood would ever turn on that deviant.

"Sexual offender" under a picture of Bill Clinton wouldn't have been funny because it wouldn't have been absurd or unexpected.

What truly was unexpected was they chose such a liberal as the butt of the joke.

I think President Clinton would have been even better! I can think of about 50 jokes they could have used, it easily could have become a running joke through the movie.

I found many of the scenes funny in this movie. Rachel did a wonderful job. But I have to say that the Sexual Offender left under Jimmy's picture was the most hilarious part of this movie.

Jimmy Carter claims to have been attacked by a rabbit while canoing. Yes, it's a true story. There are even pictures of the vicious assault. Google it if you don't believe me.
Perhaps that story took a darker turn than Jimmy cares to admit!
