IBS Network?

Am I weird for thinking the relation to the Network name that produces "Daybreak" refers to Irritable bowel syndrome?! hahah.. I was thinking it has to be one of those inside jokes.. Bought the movie today.. can't help but like it more with a second viewing!! (Says the McAdams fan..)

reply

Yeah, I kept thinking irritable bowel syndrome, too. Didn't like it.

reply

according to trivia, it's an actual studio network.

reply

yeah I was thinking that too.

reply

according to trivia, it's an actual studio network.

All the trivia says is that it was filmed on location in a real studio, not that the real studio location was also really called "IBS."

reply

It was my first thought when I saw IBS. I was waiting for a joke to get made about it, but it never came.

reply

There wasn't a joke about it, but in one of the scenes Colleen was tasked to report on something about diarrhea and the bacteria E.Coli, before she started bickering with Mike about her lack of "standards".

reply

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the call letters. I behaved though and didn't say anything for the longest time but then finally caved and made a comment about it. My friends laughed and said they were thinking the same thing.

reply

My husband said the same thing - irritable bowel syndrome network? Not very believable, but cute movie anyway

reply

I think this was done on purpose - to accentuate how"crappy" morning news shows have become.

reply

Well the trivia says it is a real network. Finally an aptly named network.

reply

@ReasonIsOutToLunch: Trivia clearly states that IBS is a FICTIONAL network, but filming took place in an actual television studio located in New York City.

reply

Also used in Up Close & Personal, I believe...

reply

Never heard of IBS.

Bulls make money, Bears make money, Pigs? They get slaughtered!

reply

It takes a lot of guts to give a network such initials.

It's that man again!!

Had to be intentional. There’s a scene where Keaton’s character reports on e coli and diarrhea, then she and Ford’s character have a spat about him not doing his job. One too many coincidences there.
