he was convicted for manslaughter which carries a much lighter sentence, 6 years is about average for a manslaughter conviction.
If you are under 18 and you are convicted of murder lets say with a knife....you should expect to get around 12-15 years max depending on the aggravating factors.
If you are age 18-20 and convicted of the same crime you would expect to get around 14-19 years again depending on how brutal the crime was etc.
if you are 21 and upwards your looking at longer sentence more like 16-20 years.
it all depends on age really...which is very pathetic.. as if an 17/18 year old is less capable then a 26 year old...
