Sexual Objectification of Women

It's kind of disappointing that society has engrained this image and standard towards our view towards women, that I did not see at least ONE post about this.
If there was a post about this, I apologize, but I do not see it.

Oh please! As if the men were not sexualized either in this and most films. anyway, what's wrong? Can't women be sexy anymore, or is it "politically incorrect?"

Probably because what you said is ridiculous.

I get what you're writing, but obviously, this isn't a movie you should watch. It would be like me complaining about a gangster movie glorifying criminals. I don't like it, but it's not catering to me, but the people that like it. I don't have to watch or support it.

One, do us a favour and burn your bra and panties and throw away your razor.

Two, burlesque has been around since the 1800's. Women CHOSE to do it because they like it as an art form, not because it's all they have to do. It's far more respectable than stripping and being a prostitute.

Three, this movie isn't about sexual objectification. You're a troll.

reply

How about Cam Gigandet's nude scene? Wasn't HE being objectified?

reply

Take your blinders off. There is sexual objectification of men as well. Do you even know anything about Burlesque?

reply

As a feminist I wasn't offended at all.

*** SPOILERS ***

The club is called Burlesque, its owned is a formerly-married couple. The woman runs the club while the man runs about kvetching about expenses and bills.

A man with an edifice complex, who wishes to erect one on their property, is trying to shut them down. The male partner is knuckling under, the female partner, isn't.

The female partner, with one of her employees, another female, discovers a way to make yet another man cough up enough money to pay off the club, buy out the male partner, and leave the fellow with the complex unable to erect his edifice.

This plot, stripped bare of it's ploys and contrivances, sounds more like the emasculation of men than the objectification of women.
