How can we help Detective Zhu???

I just watched this documentary last night and it's still with me. It went off at about 2am my time and I was so moved I woke my brother up to tell him about what I had just seen.

The desparation the families in this documentary is hard to comprehend, but there has to be something we can do.

I would love to be able to give money directly to Detective Zhu (even though he said he was going to retire - I doubt he'll be able to stop the great work that he does). His resources seem very limited... no color copier, all paperwork is done manually. He needs a team. He needs better transportation. He needs a stable location. There are so many resources that we take for granted - like the laptop I'm typing on right now and the blackberry I can't peel away from my person.... and I'm on a college student's budget!

Added resources would aid Detective Zhu's work exponentially and it would be nothing for most of us to give a few dollars. Or to sponsor a family who can't afford fines for having a child.

Does anyone know of any LEGITIMATE & EFFECTIVE organizations/charities in place that give directly to families or anti-trafficking teams? I'd love to give directly to Detective Zhu, but I don't know if that would be possible.

The production company's website has a link where you can at least donate to help find Chen Jie. Here's the link: http://www.truevisiontv.com/china/index.htm

I'm a college student, too, and I can't help but want to give what I can to them. Of course, it's important to remember in a place where a baby can be bought for a few hundred dollars, whatever we give can help.

thank you so much for that link!

Becca.. i so agree,, i saw this Saturday and OMG... the pain of these families. and the little boys who think their parents really did sell them..

But i have a question also,.. what happen to the man Cheng Jai (sp) was with , why did they not show him getting questioned by Det Zhu ??? i didnt see anything in the documentary about that and you know thats who stole him. You can tell Det Zhu is so hurt by all he has seen and heard,, how sad,, and there doesnt seem to be anyone helping this man,, if you look this show up on the web, they have a place with the film maker to donate ,,, God bless you for wanting to take action to help..
they need to show this on PRIME TIME TV

Peace

I see someone has posted the website,,and one last thing, i swear i would give up my income for a year if it would bring this little boy back to his mommy and papa as they call them,,,

it just makes me so freaking mad..

I want to send something too. I wonder if anyone has done any research on whether it is a trustworthy source to give money.

I can only imagine the families watching that would give anything to adopt that little girl. Sad, sad, sad. There's no telling what will happen when the country ends up a few years from now and there are literally no women to marry.

the website posted is a good one and they have e mail . i guess they have been hit big time with e mails and ppl wanting to help somehow find the little boy..
