Did you think this game had the best ending?

Because I did. The only VG endings that come close to this in my opinion is Modern Warfare 2 and both BioShock games.

I agree!

I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I thought this was the most cinematic of all three MW games, and even the WW2 Call of Duty games (although World at War came close).

But I recall playing the last few missions over and over just to experience the satisfaction of this game's ending. I'd usually start at the "Ultimatum" mission - that James-Bond/John-Barry-esque music at the missile launch really got me fired up.

I think there are a handful of better endings, two of those being MW 1 and 2, but forget about that because the ending was perfect and was really tense and satisfying. Also a very sad ending since your whole squad basically dies except for you(Soap).

Yup, just re-posting to reiterate what I posted two years ago

Having just seen "Hardcore Harry," I have even more appreciation for this game's ending - participation in FPS matters so much more. Also, maybe it was just a better story.
