Someone please explain the very ending????

Okay so the father really killed the mother and blamed it on the boy who was locked away and then mentally messed up because of this. I'm assuming that is why he went insane as he got older. But someone please explain the very ending. The father comes home and the daughter and step mother are acting normal like nothing ever happen. When the father asks if he is here(Curt) they say yes. It ends with him looking in on Curt upstairs lying down. What did this mean and why did his family act normal like nothing ever happened? Answers would be appreciated.

Okay so I read through one of the threads and I may have interpreted the movie wrong. When I saw this I kept wondering what the *beep* was up with the people in the baseball team. Actually I wound up watching the tail end of this and then going back and watching it full through. When I saw the part with the dad leaning over him and saying "this is our secret" I assumed he was being molested. However when I watched it through and found out Curt saw his dad murder his mom(did that really happen or was it part of his fantasy) I thought that line meant he was threatening the son not to tell what really happened. I am assuming now Curt had been molested and created the whole fantasy world. I guess I was also mistaken about the person in the bed at the end. When I saw it I thought it was Curt as an adult lying there and thats why I didn't understand why he would be there.

The "let's keep this our little secret thing" could mean two things: the dad was molesting Kurt, or the plan to kill the mom. I'd like to think it was because of the molestation, because he told him to pull his pants up and then in the last scene his new son looked terrified in the bed and the dad had the evil look on his face. But the death of Kurts mom wasn't in his head....that really happened and he witnessed it
