Is anyone else from Fort Wayne? I am, and I've been to Mississauga, and they are completely different cities. I'm not sure why they chose it... Plus Fort Wayne is a decent sized city, we have like 300,000 people, so I feel like if you're going to send a celebrity to a "getaway" place you should ship her off to a town like Minong, Wisconsin with 500 people! haha

I just stumbled across this movie while channel surfing and landed on it right as they were explaining the plan to send her to Fort Wayne. Why are we such a popular city to namedrop in movies as shorthand for Anytown USA?
Fort Wayne was used as the hometown of characters in Animal House, M*A*S*H, and Planet of the Apes. I've seen episodes of sitcoms where the cast gets stuck here for some reason or another. There's this book/movie. It seems like Fort Wayne cameos in pop culture more than you would expect for a city of its size.
I live in fort wayne. If they weren't going to use the actual location for scenes, atleast when they did the shot of the city, they could have used the real fort wayne. Nothing in that movie was in fort wayne.
