I was enjoying this movie, thought it was great...and THEN came the bedroom scene with Andy Griffith! I guess for some, they probably laughed a ton at that, but it was unnecessary raunch in my opinion! Besides the sex-for-laughs, I liked this movie.
shareI agree with you. I am as far from being a prude as anyone could imagine, so that wasn't my problem. It was the almost... "macabre" way the scene turned out. It just was... well, let me put it this way- not for the squeamish; if I want to see geriatrics couple (almost) graphically, I'll watch an instructional film or a "niche" adult movie.
Otherwise, I too had a lot of good-natured fun watching the film...

I actually thought that sex scene was gross too and didn't laugh, but there's another Griffith sex scene after the end credits that really was funny. It's a continuation of where the sex scene left off earlier in the film.
I was put off by this, Andy Griffith has always seemed like a religious man, I own one of his CDs and he just didn't seem right in this movie. I thought that the sex scene was too much and I didn't care for the fact that they had to add that into the movie. The movie would have been fine if they hadn't put it in, but as with everything else they stick it in whether it improves the story or not.
