I agree. Something about it was just off. The acting is good, especially Mantegna.
I thought the premise was a bit ridiculous...that Harry would take Billy under his wing after he tried to kill him. But there was an interesting twist to that at the very end.
And, you would not be diagnosed with cancer on your first visit to the doctor as Harry was. Numerous tests, CAT scans, etc, would be required to make that determination.
When Racquel told the doctor at the end of the movie that Harry had died, the doctor didn't express any surprise. Despite the fact that Harry was not in such an advanced (bed-ridden) state of cancer that he would die from it so soon.
Also, why would Fuller bring Billy back to "finish the job" if there was already another hit man on site to do the same thing?
Maybe someone can clear this up, but why did Harry leave the gun on the rooftop after the failed hit? Was this an oversight or intentional?
This isn't a bad movie, but I would agree with its rating here on IMDb and rate it as slightly below average.
