Would like to hear opinions from Japanese audience who bypassed the ban
As far as I know this movie is shunned in Japan as no major film distribution companies are willing to even watch it when it first came out. The actor that plays the Prince, Teruyuki Kagawa, was under heavy scrutiny from the Japanese film industry and from his fellow actors and actresses for being a "traitor". The right-wing fanatics are doing everything they can to silence any talks about Nanking Massacre and they are trying to create a revised history that makes them look like victims rather than aggressors during the war. I know there are people out there in Japan who don't give a crap about these Nazi freaks and if any of them saw this film, please reply to this post. Thanks!
