Yet ANOTHER woke show with a woman throwing men around....

It seems like every new action show on TV these days has a female lead....they all seem to be incredible kung-fu savants....and they are constantly throwing multiple, armed men around, never losing a fight or even sustaining a blow.

Hey, I get it....every studio and production company are on the same mission to be woke, and to swing the pendulum the other way. Women want this on-screen....and even a lot of pussy men (with daughters)....who want their daughters to grow up feeling like they can do anything and everything a man can do. This is not truthful. We are just different, and have different strengths and weaknesses.

You're creating false expectations. And, you're slamming the pendulum TOO far the other way, and too abruptly......hence, it comes across as patronizing and pandering. Hell, it comes across as a silly, unrealistic joke.

If you wanted realism on-screen, these women would lose badly in these fights...like, 97% of the time. In those kinds of fights, they'd be knocked out cold almost every time--and in pretty short order (not that anyone would want to see that). If you want to convey some sort of warped, "equal-time" agenda on-screen....these women would at least need to sustain a blow to the chops once in a while (not that anyone would want to see that)...and would need to lose at least 50% of the time. Instead...we get these ridiculous, pandering fights in which one 100 lb lady is throwing 2-3 trained, armed men around like rag-dolls, and never taking one single blow. This is insulting to all involved, including your audience.

So now...the latest, in a long line of cop and action shows like MacGyver, Chicago PD, FBI, etc, etc...we get The Equalizer, featuring a middle-aged, heavy-set lady....you guessed it: throwing around a bunch of armed, trained men...never sustaining one blow, and presumably winning every skirmish she gets in.

This is silly pandering, and everyone knows it. You can't throw the pendulum THAT far...THAT hard the other way. It's just...disingenuous...and silly. Watching Queen Latifah...of all people....throw people around? This show won't last 6 episodes.

Enough with this forced, woke bullsh-t. It's an OVERreaction.

In the 90s we had Cynthia rothrock,Karen Shepard,Mimi Lassos and Cynthia Kahn.

Gina Carano got cancelled we got nobody

None of those were mainstream, on prime time, major network shows. Ask 500 people if they know who the fuck Mimi Lassos is. The movies those people were in were MEANT to be gimmicky. Their very premise was that the stars of those films were martial arts experts. That’s different. You kinda know going in....these are going to be unrealistic Kung fu fantasies...like watching a Bruce Lee movie.

But prime time shows these days....like Chicago PD or McGyver....they depict regular, everyday chicks in everyday jobs....throwing a bunch of men around (and NEVER getting thrown around themselves). It would be way too off putting and upsetting to see one of these 100 lb women getting knocked cold...so they win 100% of their fights....which is............ridiculous to the point of patronizing.

I saw 6 aunties beat up a guy at a station in Cape Town once. They didn’t even try to rape him. Just straight up beat his ass until he apologized for trying to rob one of them I think. These were big thick sissi’s with babies strapped to their backs and they broke up a wooden crate and used those planks to kick his ass.
I hope Latifa gets some sisters and do that every episode. I would watch that.

Edwood Woodward never threw people around , just used his brains and a little pistol.
Maybe she's going to do it that way?

Maybe she's going to do it that way?

Nope. In the first 30 secs on the first trailer I came across.

She kicks the shit out of 4 guys while disarming them.

reply

That does sound ludicrous,

Maybe she's the lovechild of Shaft and Sammo - that "Marshall Law" guy
