A Reply To All 'Fat' Threads

I've gone through most of the threads on here, and all I have to say is over half of the people on here need to get their facts straight. First off, most scientific analysis on weight is wrong. You are most likely going to die of being skinny before you die from being fat. There is only so much weight you can loose before you start becoming sick. On the other hand, most fat people can be up to 400 pounds or more and can have a still perfect immune system and can still get around. I'm not saying you should become that fat, but you have a better off chance of being fat than being skinny if you want to live longer. Another thing. All this bull sh!t about most fat people becoming fat because they stuff their faces constantly and never exercise is wrong. Most fat people are fat because of genetics. I am fat, and have been the same weight for three years. No matter if I diet or feast everyday, I stay the same. And another thing. This whole being picked on at school for being fat does not happen at every school. In my school, (and I went to school that was drug and gang infested, mind you) most fat people were the ones who were the most popular. Most of the time if someone picked on them they got their head knocked off their shoulders. At least, that's what I did, and I know other fat people did it too.

And my b!tchiness is fully intended. And if your going to reply back with a comment along the lines of calling a name, telling me that my PERSONAL information is wrong, or that I need to shut up, I will personally make sure you are kicked off of this website. If you have a story or something to add, that's fine. But I will not put up with vulgarity. You can shove it.

Now that that is said and done, does anyone have anything to share?

I will personally make sure you are kicked off of this website.
If you really had the power to do that, why wouldn't you put that power to good use and get some of the trolls that overrun this site kicked off?

Do not cast your P.E.A.R.L.s before swine

Because one can only get kicked off for abusing somebody (as in discrimination, or down sizing someone, etc.), being vulgar, racism, threatening, etc. I know, it sucks.

I know that this was posted eight months ago, but the OP has very much misinformation in it. Yes, you can be fat and have the best immune system in the world, but it doesn't change the fact that you are putting, at the very least, your joints under enormous pressure, your heart has to work harder, and as heart disease is the number one cause of death in the US, (and it's been shown that obese people have far higher incidence of heart issues) an abundance of extra fat IS an issue.

Most people are NOT fat by genetics. If this was true, why have obesity rates increased so dramatically since the 1950's, as life grew less active and portions increased, processed foods (higher in fat and general caloric content) became prevalent over fresh vegetables, fruits, and leaner meat? I've heard many arguments about 'genetics' condemning people to a life of lard, but that is impossible, since we've had virtually the same set of genes for thousands of years? Also, why would, in RECENT times (like, 50 years recent), a predisposition to obesity arise?

I do believe that some people's bodies are naturally meant to be larger than others, but not hundreds of pounds larger. If you are a few pounds (and by a few, I mean 10-20) over the prescribed norm, I doubt that you are in for a heart attack and can see how your genetics could be to blame, but if you are a hundred pounds or more overweight, that's not JUST genetics. It could be partly because of genetics, but obesity is hugely cultural. As various countries become more Westernized, the average weight (and frequency of obesity-related diseases) of the citizens rises dramatically, showing that genetics are not the sole cause.

I do not believe that fat people should be discriminated against, or that they should be forced to lose weight, but I do believe that being fat is not purely biological. Genetics may play a role, but as I've said, it's our lifestyles, not our genes, that have changed. Cases of obesity used to be few and far between, but as people have adopted unhealthy lifestyles, they have increased.

Uh, Mr. B, what would you know about dignity?

Mister B Natural:

Thank you for your reply. Although over half of it proved me wrong *mutters incoherent profanity about one's ignorance*, I appreciate the fact that you took time to give facts that can be proven and you didn't say that all fat people are fat because they shove their mouths full of fatty foods.

OP, you are not very very bright, you know.

Well, buckethead79, if I'm not 'very very bright', than you must be the dimmest star in the galaxy. Think about that while you fill your buckethead full of rocks instead of brains.

Thanks for saving me the trouble of writing what you just did. I should mention however that your stand is a bit moderate. I believe 9 out of ten fat people are fat because of their lifestyle. I used to weigh 155 pounds till the age of 18 because that was the ideal weight in my family (for cultural reasons). I thought it was genetics (all members of my wider family are chubby but not fat). Then, I started training (swimming) 5 times a week, 2-3 hours a day. Three months later, I weighed 125 pounds and was lean and flat. I can't stand people saying "I tried but couldn't lose weight". Try harder. Skipping a meal is not enough. Train as much as I do and then tell me it's genetics!
