What was with the annoying similarities to Mean Girls?

I know it's a high school movie and it's difficult to steer away from that but seriously...!

The bit that got to me the most was when the girls posters were sabotaged and the punk girl says something like "I'm voting for her because she clearly didn't sabotage those posters" and then the punk guy goes "I'm voting for her because she did!".

Umm... remember when Regina got pushed in front of the bus and everybody thought it was Cady? Isn't that EXACTLY what two of the guys said in voting for Cady for Homecoming Queen?

Doh.

Also - I just want to add that I was fat in high school, and sure I got teased a little, but everybody got teased about something.
In fact I was reasonably popular in school, I was friends with everybody and invited everywhere. But then again I'm from England, maybe this is a bigger problem in the US.

I know! It was so unnecessary... The way the main character turned into a self-important jerk just like Mean Girls bothered me too, though not as much as that one line.

I live in one of the 'largest' states in the US, and the overweight people were just as different as the thin ones. Some were popular and outgoing, others were shy and outcast-y. Based off of my high school experience, people don't judge solely on looks. It's personality and making an effort to look nice, no matter what size you are.
