You mean the way she'd go gorging on food when she was upset? I got the feeling that it was almost like a self-punishment thing. I mean, she so obviously wasn't enjoying the food while she was eating it.

How is it annoying? She obviously goes to food because it is her source of comfort. Its a psychological problem, and its an impulse pretty difficult to control. Ever heard of drug/alcohol addiction? Its hard quit, and it takes the support and understanding of others for a person to overcome it.
shareYeah, even though I found the character to be annoying, I could definitely understand her need for food, whenever she was going through emotional distress. She is an emotional eater, like a lot of other people are, so whenever something happens, her defense mechanism is to eat. Also, as someone else said, it's an impulse control problem. Like when she was at the party, and she started eating the chips. Instead of just taking one or two, she would have eaten a lot of the chips if the two snotty girls hadn't taken a picture of her to humiliate her.

i know it was so over the top. like i can't picture any fat person running like a maniac and winging the door open and stuffing their mouths with ice cream while sitting in front of the fridge. i felt like the director was purposely making fun of fat people.
