Her mom inside her head being mean

So, at times, Maggie would imagine her mom saying hateful things to her. Is that supposed to symbolize how Maggie really treats and talks to herself?

You are correct sir!

I was wondering the same thing. I think it was supposed to symbolize the fact that she puts the way she feels about herself on her mom (like putting words in her mouth, almost). Like she blames her mom for how she feels about herself and doesn't want to admit it's her own thinking.

Didn't know that I was a "sir" . . . LmAo
Thanks, just wanted to see if what I was thinking wasn't totally off!

Remember in the end when she was looking at hrself in the mirror? it started off as her mom, but then turned into her. That is when she realized that it is how she sees herself, not how others see her.

reply

Oh how funny, I thought the reflection turned to her because she finally banished the "mom" image.

what...no love for me (mr baker) my wife and I are having
a blast with how annie dished on me

"you have his eyes..his chin"

that amongst others, but overall im in quite a bit
of the movie everytime they mention dad or show
mypicture and talk about "last year when he died"

I don't see the point of that monologue! Her mother may have been a tad too focused on her weight, and had doubts about her running for homecoming, but she was never cruel to her!

I like how she stood up to the principal after Maggie was framed for spray painting the girl's poster!
