From what I've seen on the Record (Rede Record) website, I could almost sware that this is the Brasilian version of 'Heroes', at least that's what it looks like.

The show is a mix of "X-Men" and "Heroes", although the mutants in this case are not a consequence of natural evolution but genetic manipulation. It also has elements of "Mutant X" and "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer" (Maria's figthing techniques and the bio-microchip that induces pain when the subject who carries it tries to do anything contrary to the will of the person who implanted it).
The title can be translated as "Ways of the Heart".
