...ripping off the Scott Sigler novel of same title?

Hi everybody,
that flick was aired here in Germany last night and I instantly checked the teletext for year of production and now this morning more on imdb.

In 2008 Scott Sigler wrote a novel of the same title and a remotely similar plot; well, at least from the 30 minutes I could stand to watch this movie.
I noticed some triangular icon on the skins of some infected in the movie which is what the book described too and the novel had an alienplot too but it was way better because it openly celebrated the pulp-trash-character.

A friend of mine and I still look forward for the official proper movie adaption.

Would anyone wha eventually read the novel and was strong enough to watch this movie til the endcredits agree to a ripoff-theory?

I don't know. I haven't read any Scott Sigler but it seemed to be a rip-off of various things. I could see the resemblance to V and some parts reminded me of MIB (particularly the big bug guy).

This is more like Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets V. It's nothing like Sigler's book, which is excellent by the way.
