Well, Eagle Eye was a rip-off of Die Hard 4.0. Besides, I'm sure this film began production before Eagle Eye was released.

Seriously! the ideas people have about how long it takes to make a film in hollywood... like a film could go through all stages of production and be released in the matter of months? lol!!!

No, I'm sure this film was in production while Eagle Eye was and the latter just beat out the former for one reason or another. Chances are the release was delayed on this one to space it out. Oh, studio wars! (think Deep Impact v. Armageddon)

ANyway, that said, I think this will still be cool (i personally hate Shia, so Shane is a good replacement)... Cooler phone in this anyway....

Interesting comparisons! How about Dark City and The Matrix? The Matrix used the same roof tops for the scene when Trinity jumps through that window at the beginning! Yet, Matrix came out on top.

I just watched the trailer for this film and I went straight to the message boards to protest about Eagle Eye, but you guys are right, what can you do? It does happen all the time, sometimes it can be a good thing though, especially (as someone said before) if it's better than Eagle Eye! cos Michelle Monaghan was rubbish in my opinion! So, we will find out shortly, which film comes out on top!

Volcano and Dante's Peak. Both were terrible, but I think Dante's Peak was worse, in my opinion.

There's about a thousand other instances of this happening, those are just the onces that popped into my head first. I'm always surprised how many people have never noticed this has been happening for years...

haha, yeah. eagle eye was ok. if this one is better than i'll forgive the rip off, even tho they probably were making them at roughly the same time. plus it has to be fairly different than the last die hard

Guys it's not a rip off, use your heads. There is no way in hell this movie was written, greenlit, cast, shot, edited, scored, polished and marketed all between the release of Eagle eye and now. It had to have been in production much earlier.

I was about to start a thread " This looks like Eagle Eye only lamer" if that is at all possible. But I found this thread. Don't get me wrong. I found Eagle Eye entertaining, but the whole concept was beyond ridiculous and this is even more so.

I just saw this movie, never even heard of it until today. I did see Eagle Eye, and while i can see that there were lots of similarities between the two they are still completely different films. In Eagle Eye for instance, the computer thing had fully control over everything and could even take control of vehicles. Here in Echelon Conspiracy it is limited in what it can control and basis' its predictions on probability instead of outright fully controlling the odds and the people.

Yes, Eagle Eye and Echelon Conspiracy share some similar bits of plot, but they still are 2 different films. I enjoyed both of them.
