Not knowing much about this history of this story, it's easy to tell that there was just too much content to put into a 2hr movie. It was disjointed at times, and things were scanned over. A 3-part story on The History Channel would've been great. More detail to understand all of the actual content was needed.
Still a pretty good movie.
I agree. I wonder if the writers/producers thought about making it a TV/Cable movie. I think it would have been much more successful.

Definitely. My biggest problem with the film was the script. Too episodic, constantly breaking to put some text on the screen to get the audience caught up because a proper sequence of exposition would take up 5 minutes or more. It just felt like they tried to tell too much story in too short a time. A 3+ hour movie or a 4-6 hour mini series would've been better.
A lot of strange things happen in this world. Things you don't know about in Grand Rapids.
