Why did Molly... [Spoilers]

... commit suicide?

I mean this isn't clear in the movie. She just couldn't take all the stuff that happened? It doesn't make any sense. Or it was really "accidental OD" which I think it's stupid.

When she found out Stephen was fired and going to go to the other side and destroy Morris she was in a panic that he was going to expose her having sex with Morris and having the abortion. She could not get a hold of Stephen and her anxiety built up to a point where she decided to kill herself rather than suffer the humiliation in the press.

she didnt want to be like monica lewinsky and get paraded around to the entire world and have her life and reputation ruined forever.

I, too, thought they should have gone into a little more effort in explaining this one.

A few things

She didn't want it to come that Morris was having an affair and she aborted his child basically ruining his career seen as Stephen was fired and was probably going over to Duffy's side and could use it to expose Morris.

She was catholic and if her family found out. She'd probably be disowned.

I don't know if she felt guilt over Stephen, I doubt it really but was more worried about with the information he had over her that could ruin Morris.
