It's a step above Epic Movie or Meet the Spartans, but that's not saying much.

It was supposed to be an homage to the nuclear panic films of the '50's, but they made it too well. It could actually have BEEN one of those movies. There are so few jokes that it appears these guys were actually trying to make a serious 50's throwback film rather than a parody of them. If I hadn't recognized Robert Patrick, I might have believed that it actually was a lost film only just rediscovered.

A great opportunity wasted. What a shame.

That's the WHOLE POINT of the film, to pretend it's an actual movie from the era, just as This Is Spinal Tap tried to play like a straight documentary. And a lot of people initially weren't in on the joke on that one as well.

Well no - This is Spinal Tap was a parody of a rock band. So you do have the point right, but you're using a very bad example.

Sorry you didn't get this movie. I thought it was great. This was everything you would expect from a 50's sci fi movie. Maybe you had to be around then to appreciate this kind of movie. Much better then the lost skeleton movie in my opinion.

Don't see what there is to "get" about this movie. It's not much of a spoof or parody (according to those involved, it wasn't intended as such) and, as an homage, a bit more creativity rather than simply "borrowing" heavily from "It Came from Outer Space" with dashes of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "The Blob" could have made for a better film. Neither fish nor fowl, it basically comes down to - why bother making the film at all? As is often the case with homage films, it's much more satisfying watching the inspirations.

Oh and yeah there isnt really anything to "get" about this movie, it was supposed to be a homage, parody or spoof but really it was souless dirge. I've seen kids schools productions better than this, seriously.

Maybe that's because you don't get it. Read my post again. Do I say it's a funny movie? No. Maybe you have trouble comprehending what I wrote. Not my problem.

i thought the movie was really old, imagine my surprise when i came here. the lesbian gesture surprised me. but it's boring.
