Attention “The Middleman” board: starting episode 1 Friday, November 22

Greetings, The Middleman board. We are a group of folks that like to watch usually one-season shows from the beginning and working all the way through to the end. We watch one show a week on Friday and then discuss over the next few days. Anyone here who is interested, we will start episode 1 on Friday, November 22nd, 2013. We have never failed to finish a show. The previous shows we have watched are:

The Time Tunnel
Kolchack the Night Stalker
Night Gallery Season 1.
Voyagers!
The Lone Gunmen
Wonderfalls
Tales of The Gold Monkey
Firefly
Odyssey 5
Pushing Daisies
Journeyman
God, the Devil and Bob
Day Break (2006)
Dark Skies (1996)
Brimstone (1998)

Come and join us and let's have some fun. Word of caution though, we can be pretty harsh in some of our criticism of these shows and have ruffled feathers of some pre-existing board members in the past. We mean no harm just calling it the way we see it, we also tend to disagree with each other on whether it's a good episode or not. Early members of our group mocked Night Gallery's Moon Mouse, but isn't the moon made of cheese anyway? But yes, I agree Time Tunnel's Ghost of Nero is pretty irredeemable... LOL. And now some of us will be having nightmares with alien abductions or being chased by some escapee from Hell.

Anyway, looking forward to episode 1 to see what we have gotten ourselves into this time. See you on the 22nd.

OK, ready to get started. I see that the pilot is double-length, so I'll have to be sure to have an adequate supply of snacks on hand.

I PMed several people on this board who seem to be fans. Hope some of them join us!

Man you and MadP are the best. I never would have thought about doing that. You guys are the right ones to try and grow the group. wlcebtg and I were never that good at getting new blood, glad you guys put forth such a good effort.

I was also over at the V*******! board a couple of days ago, and one of our threads was still there. The last post, about a year ago, was by Cobram, who said something about "I wonder if the group is still together and where they are." I PMed him, too. Hope he drops in.

As far as I'm concerned, thank you! What I really like to do is post things with links, or even Links (2008). As soon as I discovered this feature I can't have enough of it. I wish I could hyperlink words.

I don't think this is right.....it may be me just me but I'm seeing 12 42 minute episodes....is this not correct?

Hmm, you may be right. I checked YouTube again for the file I downloaded and it show it as being about 42 minutes, give or take a few seconds. But when I tried playing it a couple of days ago, the player showed a time around an hour and a half. It wouldn't be the first time one of those showed an incorrect time.

Guess I'll only need half the refreshments. That, of course, means ditching all of the popcorn and keeping all of the beer.

Mystery solved. The "double episode" notion came from the Plex listing. When you enter a series into Plex, it pulls in metadata from some web service. That service isn't too bad, but it does have flaws. And one of them is listing the pilot as about 1-1/2 hours. When actually played, it's 42 minutes.

Not sure what to think about this series it kind of reminds me of a Hanna-Barbera cartoon. No matter if it’s good or bad I’m in all the way. Unless the horn sounds then I’m out of here.

How long have we been doing this? Lot of one hit wonders... As I recall the moon mouse episode was greatest six minutes of T.V. ever!

Wow, a cartoon would be bad enough, but come on, a Hanna-Barbera one? With the animation quality of the 1960s? Not the best of expectations there, buddy. Honestly it's got to be a thousand times better than this, please, buddy!

This show reminds me of (or at least I'm hoping for that) Warehouse 13 (2009), which is funny but not hilarious, and dramatically bearable. A cozy funny little show.

Well, we'll know soon enough.

Coming up on six years--we started in 2008, I think in February.

As I recall the moon mouse did have some redeeming qualities about it.
1. it counted as an episode
2. it was only six minutes long.

It was a little interesting right up until they threw that stupid mouse into the set wow....lazy effects even for then....like Gilligan's Island Vampire bat.
