Well we have plenty of choices! Rank your top three so we can have 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The winner will be announced on Friday 21st evening.

Here are the suggested shows in alphabetical order:

- Alien Nation (1989)
- Automan (1983)
- Caprica (2009)
- FlashForward (2009)
- Mann & Machine (1992)
- Run (2013)
- Terra Nova (2011)
- Terriers (2010)
- The Day of the Triffids (1981)
- The Dresden Files (2007)
- The Prisoner (1967)
- Total Recall 2070 (1999)

(Honestly they all look great. So, even if your show isn't picked, keep on insisting because they all have a chance.)

1. Run....wlcebtg has assured me this is good.

2. The Dresden Files....Looks interesting

3. Terriers....That dude has been in so many failed series

reply

1. Caprica I wouldn't have to buy anything because I already have it. And on the second go around I enjoyed it.

2. Alien Nation I remember liking the handful of eps. I caught on the air when it ran.

3. Total Recall 2070 As a fan of Philip K. Dick, I'll either love it or hate it.

___________

I'd've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids.

reply

1. Total Recall 2070 - Madp seems pretty enthused about it, and he was the one whose deciding vote gave charmedwon the chance to finally get MIDDLEMAN watched. So fair is fair.

2. Flashforward - Well, somebody's got to vote for it.

3. Run - Only four episodes. It wouldn't take long.

Hello 'jolly group of people who likes to watch old TV shows'! After reading the message board of the Journeyman TV series, I tracked you to this place and now I'm eager to join your group. I've taken a look at the nominees and I would like to vote as follows:

1. Alien Nation (1989) - The story immediately sparked my attention and as far as I've read there is a good mixture of action and character development. I'm very curious to this one!

2. The Dresden Files (2007) - The theme of the show sounds good to me, but apparently the pace of the series is a bit slow.

3. FlashForward (2009) - Always wanted to watch this show when it aired on TV in the Netherlands. Never got to it, so that's a good reason to put it in the third slot. Why didn't I watch it on TV at that time?

Those are my votes, but I accept the group's rule that whatever is chosen shall be watched. Looking forward to it!

That's great, FransFonville. Welcome to the group!

Welcome aboard. Hope you hang around for a while.

reply

Yes, welcome Frans! If I'm understanding your post correctly, you're from the Netherlands? We're now covering (so to speak) three continents!

My votes:

1 - The Prisoner (1967)

2 - Caprica

3 - Terra Nova

reply

Here are my votes:

1) Total Recall 2070 - My standing suggestion.

2) The Prisoner (1967) - I'm assuming dtmuller will vote for that one, considering it was his suggestion.

3) The Dresden Files - My other suggestion, and this one has charmed's seal of approval, so no fights there!

Honorable mentions:

Alien Nation (I have nice memories of it), Caprica (The show is very good and I miss Alessandra Torresani), Terriers (Looks strange and unusual, but in a good way). Keep pushing those. I'll end voting for them sooner or later. It's just that this round there have been too many good suggestions.

Also, in the "fair is fair" spirit, soon we should pick one of wlcebtg's favorite shows. I don't want to see anybody moping around!

speaking of wlcebtg, I had a question on one of his shows. Run is listed as a mini series rather than an actual series that was canceled, I was going to vote for that but wasn't sure of the ruling. Any thoughts on mini series as opposed to canceled shows?

I thought you would be the guy to know and tell us. Methinks there's no problem, but now that you've mentioned it, I'm not sure.

reply

I'd say a miniseries is OK as well. I've even seen Day Break listed as a miniseries and I sure wouldn't want to have DQed that one!

reply

Well, since we have cleared that up about run, I will now switch my vote. Hope no one has a problem with that. I will edit my original vote. thanks for the quick resolution.

IMDB is not always reliable. For example, they list TIMECOP as a mini-series, but it was actually just a series that didn't last through its first season. I tried to look up RUN on other sites. One said they only ordered four episodes. But that doesn't necessarily make it a mini-series. ABC once had a tryout for a show called THE D.A. that was only four episodes long. Other series like CAGNEY & LACEY and POLICE SQUAD started out with only six episodes ordered. QUANTUM LEAP didn't have much more than that in its first season either. And last summer, sources were calling UNDER THE DOME a miniseries, but it wasn't. It was just a continuing series complete with a cliffhanger ending and plans for more shows next summer. (I'll bet its ratings would have been lower had people realized it wasn't going to end when summer ended.)

So, I'd be inclined to give RUN the benefit of the doubt.

Yes. Frans, welcome to the group. And Bob, I never got around to welcoming you to the group last time. So, welcome to you both.

Let's wait for Friday then. Someone new might still appear and vote, or someone old might change his mind.

reply

Yeah, those top two are pretty close.

The top two pretty close? By my count, we have a three-way tie.
