Is there a direct link with Stargate?
Knowing Ba'al has been the arch-go'auld ennemy for the last sg-1 years, knowing Lexa Doig and Michael Kopsa are in it (multiple time guest stars)and that Paul Ziller directed at least one stargate episode.
Maybe they are all coincidence though...
I think it's just a coincidence. Ba'al is a god from history, the actors are pretty standard syndicated/B-movie cast, and I think this is Paul Ziller's kind of thing.
shareThe link is that Ba'al was produced in Vancouver by a production company that has produced a considerable number of projects for SciFi television. Given that both the Stargate series and Battlestar Galactica are produced in Vancouver with the same finite pool of talent, it was inevitable that Ba'al would employ Stargate people [Doig] as well as BSG people [Von Pfetten].
