mixed martial garbage...

oh my god.. I can't believe I had sat through watching this 'so called' piece of trash movie.

I've seen home made youtube produced movies made by youngins better than this piece of trash. It had really poor direction. I really thought this was a college film project by a bunch of students that scored a B- for their final film assignment.

The funniest part of this film is a scene which shows the father coincidentally wakes up from his coma in the hospital bed as if he had *beep* his pants right after a scene where his son (main character) gets owned and thrown out of his ex girlfriend's home trailer window by the new b/f lol...

This movie is pathetic, not worth rent or pirating. Should be released straight to midnight movie TV schedules on a saturday night. AVOID!.

rant end.

The Red Canvas is a very unique movie with a great story. There are some great actors and some popular MMA fighters in the movie. Some of the fighting scenes will bring you to the edge of your seat if you are a martial artist. You will appreciate the choreography. The message of the movie is very important to learn from and the Video quality is superb. Only critics with a lack of appreciation for hard work will not promote this movie because they don't think anything is good unless it has a bunch of immorality in it. It is a MUST SEE!

I can appreciate your opinion but I have to say: Perhaps as a martial artist it lends a bit of an edge but honestly I would by any chance try to pass this off as a must see. If I was watching this movie purely for the fights then I would have just turned on to a sport channel for that. This being a movie has to bring a little bit more to it than what you have just mentioned above. The acting is terrible, certainly looked like a class of students making their own project. Terrible work with the camera, I don't know if it was intentional to center right into the turmoil where you can barely make out the fight because you can barely see the other fighters in the scene and just more of the hand movements.

Trust me even as a martial artist I can tell you there are plenty of other movies you can watch and get a better pay off. This brings nothing to the table, the fights are basic and only worthy notice I saw was from one or two of the fighters (and that is because they are real fighters) but beyond that its a pile of trash. Red Belt was a better martial arts movie even Black Belt stands above this one.

First of all, confess that you're a pirate and should be arrested for illegal downloads. The opinions of film makers like Bill Chartoff "The Producer of Rocky," martial artists, instructors, those who have seen the film in proper format at test screenings, all agree that the film is totally pro, greatly entertaining, meaningful and unique. Bottom line, they love it... UFC fans and MMA fans in general think the fights are "Top Notch," authentic, and "of the best they've seen." It doesn't surprise me that the quality on the "Pirated Version" made by some random theif off of a rough cut of the film is sub-par. You remind me of the bank robber who recently boasted of his last success on youtube and then got arrested. I do understand that a story-line centered around character growth might be offensive to someone of your demeaner. If you're going to continue in your illegal activities, at least have the common sense to keep you corrupted opinions to yourself.

Dude.. first of all get your head out of your A-hole. You are lucky that your film had some exposure that had tricked some of us watching it! if it wasn't for the pirates, I don't even think there would be anyone would have posted up any threads for this film on here!

You want to become a better and successful film maker and want people to spend money on ya garbage? first start becoming more humble. Admit to your mistakes and failures and learn from it so you can find a way to stop making garbage.

The bottom line is file sharing is not bad for the film industry but it acts as a filter to filter out the garbage from the rest of the gems. In other words if people like your work, it is more likely they would spend money on your future projects one way or the other. Even though I do pirate, from time to time I do go to the cinema and buy dvds by those who produce the "GOODS" and not "GARBAGE".

You as a film maker coming on here whining about a few who pirated your pieces of garbage to justify lack of garbage sales does not make you look any better sunshine. Also have you EVER not EVER recorded a Movie off the TV using a VHS recorder back in the days? can you honestly admit to that as a "FILM MAKER" like yourself? if you have, what does that make you? an hypocrite? but nah.. how could you?!

This mmovie is 1000x better then The Ultimate Fight.

Also the fight scenes and story put BS movies like Never Back Down to shame.

agree, this was a awful garbage...

I agree, Davey -- storyline - VERY weak. There was nothing to follow, no goal, and what exactly was the conflict? To fight to redeem? OMG, the acting was HORRIFIC. Yes, I am a film critic. It was so sad and so embarrassing to watch. What a waste of time, effort and money.

I am very confused right now, I had been waiting for a movie called "Submission" for a while, and it is even listed here at imdb, but it seems like Red Canvas is a modified version of Submission, cutting Ving Rhames' part and making the whole thing very short and weird, because this sure was a weird movie with a lot of stuff missing and cut.
