And the point of Crank 2 was?

I love the first movie, I get the originality of it and the fact it's equally absurd. I was expecting this one to be an even higher notch up of insanit, there's no way you couldn't. But what did I miss? Was the point of the movie to make a film so over the top that it deliberaely took the p@@s out of people expecting it to be at least a good sequel on the original? It seemed like no one was even bothering towards the end. Is there something clever or funny I missed that I should of got instead of feeling like I'd wasted on something that it's original could of s"@t on from a great height?

Wasn't anyone expecting it to be a bit more. A sequel with a premise as lurdicrous at this, wouldn't of it been a better idea to build on what brilliantly went before instead of ruining people's expectations, exspecially if like alot of people I know hadn't seen the original, but heard it was good and started with the second first. Crank stood apart from most of the action movies by being ludicrous but so original it was brilliant. It seemed like no effort to build on what went before was made.

Agreed with kramsey20. In the beginning as I was watching the movie, I thought to myself, "wtf is this". But then I realized it's not really supposed to make sense and was highly entertaining. Once you no longer take the movie seriously, you will realize it's not that bad and actually pretty funny/entertaining.

unless they made Crank 2 in the way they did it would have just been boring to see the same things as in Crank 1. They needed to go more over the top.

"And the point of Crank 2 was" - really this shouldn't even be a question, you could ask this about 80% of all movies ever made, even ones based on actual events.

My feelings exactly. I guess their aim (if there was any) was to make the most revolting, violent, trashy, useless, brainless piece of crap ever possible.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

If you dislike this film you have no heart.

It's a surreal comedy with heavy doses of action and satire.

Fundamentally, the only real "point" to it is to entertain. And that it does. Very well.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

The first Crank is utter horse dung because it stops middle of the road. It's silly and surreal, but not crazy enough to make that aspects really funny, so it's just another violent action movie with some weird scenes.

On the other side, Crank 2 wasn't afraid of the wild side and went entirely crazy, and thus became a hilarious surreal comedy.
Who could still take it seriously after watching the fight at the power station (you know, with the rubber action figures, Godzilla and all)?

Is this bothering you?
