Why wasn't it filmed in Taiwan? (Taipei Times article)

More political skullduggery apparently, but if you're going to criticise a political party for their past crimes and that same political party is back in power, they might not take too kindly to it.

Here's the recent article from the Taipei Times:

This is so sad, the KMT is really a cancerous, murderous, and corrupted regime. It is sobering to know that a film about Taiwan's history cannot even be filmed in Taiwan and has to be filmed in a foreign country.

Pffft as opposed to the angelic Democratic Progressive Party? You're hilarious.

KMT had dark times, just like most political parties in history, but presently speaking it's a lot more civilized than the DPP. And trust me, most people in Taiwan would agree with this statement.

Pretty sure the movie's just a big ol' propaganda from the DPP. Probably even funded by the money Chen Shui-bian embezzled.

your comment about most political parties having dark times is true, however the kmts dark time lasted 38 years and 57 days which is quite a long dark time.

the kmt being more civilized than the green party may actually be completely untrue as the green party policies are all geared towards creating a much better environment for taiwan and the world. unless when you said the green party you actually meant the dpp not the green party, in which case you should state clearly how you judge a person or peoples to be 'civilized'.

Sorry, I meant the DPP, not "Green" Green party.

Regardless of how long the KMT dark time lasted, it's a thing of the past. KMT has gone through quite a change, and they've apologized and apologized for what happened.

Civilized? Just take a look at the legislators in Taiwan, most DPP members are rude and violent, and not just verbally, sometimes they get physical too. I came from a family of DPP supporters, but I refuse to be part of, and be represented by people that can't speak and negotiate in an educated and reasonable manner.

It's more important to judge the parties by their core ideologies. Many KMT members are gangsters and murderers, many of them have history of money-laundering and corruption. I wonder how civilized these KMT people are when they were having a good time in practicing their third-world politics cesspool. It's easy to perceive DPP as uncivilized at face-value, but what about what these people really represent, don't be so simplistic.
