analysis of jungle fury vs past generations possible spoilers

hey all this is my thread to rate jungle fury the latest incarnation of power rangers vs the past gens.

this is how i see the system loosely

opening/ending- the means the graphics music ect ect that comes in the opening/ending sequences

focus- this essentially focuses on plot but it has many other elements as well

actors/actresses- well this about the major and minor character actors

technology- this covers zords battlizers ect ect

Overall- this category is the combination of the other categories and how well all of them meshed or currently mesh to make the show happen.

well the possible spoilers are this if you have not seen every episode of jungle fury you may find out things you don't know now onto my analysis of the past gens and then jungle fury

1) the 1st gen (MMPR)

a) opening/ending well at the time super cool and has a special place in my heart so i give it a 6/10

b)the focus great focus a 10/10 the spirits of the dinosaurs for the most part except mastadon but it kept focused the entire time.the plots of this gen were good but i also know in the japanese version i know the green ranger died but here he was depowered because it was for kids and tommy was popular here. over all the plots were great though corny but great.

c) actors/actresses well not the best of all the gens but they were the first so i give them an 8/10 for being pioneers and this was when i liked tommy and jason(hell i went to a con to get asutin st john's signature) they tugged at my heart strings

d) the Zords oh yes these were special the zords were great and memorable a 10/10.

e)technology- this is the big problem of the show in this gen toooo much culminating in tor i believe and the ultra zord waaay tooo much they got to the point lokar was no problem to defeat (drive away) so 5/10

f) Villains- Rita Repusla eventually lord zedd(thunder zord gen)hmm how do i say this best UGH INCOMPETENT BUT they have a special place in my heart none the less and i see them for what they are the begining villains who made the shows first season funny and their entertainment value was great 7/10

g) overall- a 10/10 all the elements came together and covered most the the faults making the first gen great

2) 2nd gen-(MMPR thunder zords)

a) oh yes the opening/ending a 10/10 wonderful opening the begining of a great era no more needs to be said.

b) focus- 10/10 wow the focus of this era yes the great focus continues if i could give a higher rating than 10 i would but on a 10 point scale 10 will have to suffice. the focus went from dinosaurs to mythical animals/modern animals the
continuing plot of rita and now having lord Zedd involved made it more comical but great.

c) the actors/actresses continue to be great as they were the same from the first gen but i think they were starting to hone their skills so they get a 10/10 for this gen

d) Zords- THE ZORDS well these zords were great and my favorite is the white tiger thunder zord which marks the return of tommy whom i still liked during that time and he returned not as back up but a primary fighter and fully charged in his power to become the leader of this force. the rest of the zords especially the red dragon zord were great as well 10/10

e)technology- well where first gen piled on the technology one on top of the the other this gen kept the tech at a sufficent level but still great they corrected the mistake of the previous gen 10/10

f) Villains- lord Zedd came in here as the "Overlord" of darkness came off fearsome at first in fact his first monster made the transition GREAT even with the combo of rita still with him eventually and she becoming his wife ugh BUT over all he was a great villain even though he degraded into stupidity 8/10

g) overall- not a single blemish in this gen a 10/10

3) 3rd gen (ninja zords after the three inerlude episodes)

a) opening/ending still the thunder zord opening for the first three episodes but the ninja zord ear opening still great 10/10

b) focus- continues with great focus and best of all to a certain extent they brought in another incompetent villain hey what do you expect the plot continues to be corny over all but great hey we all know the plots are always the weak point but in that context i have rated them as 10/10

c) actors/actresses - *sighs* it HAD to happen the coming or rocky adam and aisha replacing jason billy and kimberly(assuming i remember correctly) the acting was decent but i missed the originals so it went down to 7/10

d) the zords this is what i wanted to discuss most of all most of the zords were great falcon crane wolf ape and then there was FROG ugh adam though i didn't like him got gyped on his zord so that makes the primary zords 9/10 now for the shogun zords ugh i hate the shogun zords 4/10

e)they kept the technology at a constant level once more so 10/10 on this category

f) Villains- Lord Zedd still around degraded into stupidity by this time completely Rita's brother as an addition again fearsome at first but showed his stupidity very quickly compared to previous villains probably because of his bone headedness(YES I WENT THERE!!) but the villains again made for great entertainment 9/10

g) overall- a 10/10 again the elements came together once more to cover the faults nicely

4) 4th gen (Zeo gen)

a)openin/ending fairly decent but not as great as the previous ones hmmm 8/10

b)focus- the problem with the focus is i can't figure out the focus the power came from the zeo crystals but what focus was there no dino spirits no spirit of thunder no spirit of the ninja where does it come from other than the crystals? 6/10

c) actors/actresses well they continued from the previous gen soo 7/10

d) zords um i don't even know where to begin with the zords how they fit together so if there was a second zord team i don't remember them 5/10

e) technology- was kept at a consistant level 10/10

f) Villains-the end of the Rita/Zedd/Rito/ master vile
and all the sidekicks thus cometh the machine king, King Mondo and his queen queen Machina and their son sprocket and all of their sidekicks now these were mild improvements but not by much. Lord Zedd and company 5/10 King Mondo and company 8/10

g) ocverall- thye elements were decent but not very good compared to the previous gens 7/10

5) 5th gen (PRT_

a)opening/ending- ugh the turbo opening 2/10

b) focus- oh please. like Zeo where does the power originate from the vehicles?
there was no quest no event no picking of these particular teens well maybe in the episode where they transitioned to turbo but over all why them it was just up there is one thing though not part of the focus that i liked and that was Dimitria. alpha 6 oh sheesh. the focus is UNCLEAR AT BEST which is my justification for this score 2/10

c) actors/actresses i didn't care enough to even care but the one i hated the most was justin the 10 year old ranger sheesh 3/10

d)zords- hated them 2/10

e) technology - ugh don't care 2/10

f) Villains- Divatox and Elgar and the rest of the sidekicks ugh i can barely make any comments about them not even up to Rita and Zedd standards. These Villans had no entertainment value at all 2/10

g) overall- um sucked badly 1/10

6) 6th gen(PRIS_

a) opening/ending oh yes this gen restored my faith in the franchise great opening and ending 10/10

b) focus- this gen broke the tradition of the spirits and stuff like that but it was GREAT. the plot was great and made some heavy changes to past villains at the end and broke the traditionof the interdimensional being directing the team
the Advent of D.E.C.A this added to the techno focus which i love that focus
10/10

c) actors/actresses some of the same actors/actresses but the replacements were great and the addition of the the person who played zane made the series even greater 10/10

d) the zords were great and wonderful loved them 10/10

e) technology- again at a consistant level 10/10

f)Villains- Astronema Dark Specter who was in the background behind her and Ecliptor WOW GOOD AND SMART VILLAINS AT LAST even if they always failed like the previous gens VERY ENJOYABLE VILLAINS 10/10

g) overall - great gen 10/10

7) 7th gen(PRLG)

a) opening/ending the lost galaxy opening/ending SUPERB 10/10

b) focus- the power came from the galatca beasts for the most part and the toro zord WONDERFUL no one got gyped this time. the heroes/heroines were great but
the best thing of all the first villainess that fought the rangers 10/10

c) actors/actresses loved them one and all and valerie vernon (i felt sorry for her when i heard about what happened to her) 10/10

d) the zords - wonderful zords 10/10

e) technology - again at a constant level wonderfully done.

f)Villains-Furio a wonderful villain i liked him even if i don't remember him appearing too much as far as I remember 9/10 scorpius UGH a big um um i guess a supposed scoripion though looked more like an octopus but his ship was great 2/10 TRAKEENA i was told she didn't exist in japan I DON'T CARE she actually started the new school villains who got in there and FOUGHT the rangers she got her hands dirty in battle thank you very much to me a beloved villainess 10/10 Treachron smart villain tried taking the through though was caught in the long run he had potential to be a BIG threat.6/10 Villmax villain hmmm not sooo much more like an honorable merc who stuck by trakeena's side though the seires from his first appearance after teaching her the way of the sword VERY BELOVED TO ME 10/10. OH WOW if there is just one villain that made the series dramatic besides the main villainess it was deviot smart cunning devious and was one of the big threats of the series ALMOST as bad and beloved as trakeena. um kegler i don't even know this one so i guess i can't comment on this villain. Captain Mutiny
ok he appeared in very few episodes in america he made the commander seem extremely dumb i mean commander stanton TRUSTED a villain named CAPATIN MUTINY and was surprised when the captain enslaved the population? 4/10(this rating applies to the captain's sidekicks as well). The Psycho rangers THEIIIIRR BAAACK the one and only equals i could ever think of to the actual rangers the through the looking glass rangers 10/10 a note most of the villains seemed to be just slightly below the main Villainess which made any possible revolt at least a possibility to succeed. the villainess and villains overall 10/10

g) overall- oh yes a great gen 10/10

9) 8th gen (PRLSR)

a) opening/ending loved it great opening and great ending 10/10

b) focus- the rangers fall back to earth and i think this was the second pure tech gen the plot was strong in this gen the villans/villanesses were great (loved vypra) 10/10

c) actors/actresses i think they were all superb in this gen 10/10

d) though back to vehicles much better than turbo and loved the mega zords for one of the modern gens they were great 10/10

e) technology- once more they did a great job of keeping it at a constant level never getting out of control with it.

f)Villains- Diabolico the very first villain of this series oh wow he is great and twisted honorable to boot 10/10 Vypra -the best villainess of the series 10/10 loki and jinxer goldar and finster of this gen to a certain extent 6/10
impus/olympus- frist incarnation (baby impus) 2/10 olympus a bit of a mama's boy in my opinion(did everything to please his mother not because he wanted to destroy the world though he could've) 8/10

g) overall- great gen what more can i say about it 10/10

I have one question for you, and a couple of comments. First off, why don't you have a section rating the villains, also? For me, the show's make or break point is if the villains are strong or weak. I know you mention the villains sometimes in the "Focus" sections of your review, but you didn't even mention Rita or her cohorts in the first season.

My comment is this: In your "Power Rangers in Space" segment, you mentioned "this gen broke the tradition of the spirits and stuff like that but it was GREAT." Not to nitpick, but I think Turbo probably broke the Spirit tradition, at the latest... maybe even Zeo (since, as you said, there was no clear focus on what powered the Rangers in that season). Also, my other comment, I thought your section on Turbo was somewhat lacking. Sure, it's apparent that you disliked it (to put it mildly), but only one sentence in each section of the season doesn't really express WHY you disliked it so much. So far, though, enjoying the posting, looking forward to any more that you may have.

9th Gen PRTF

a) opening/ending well from what i have seen not bad (realize i have not seen much of time force 7/10

b)the Focus well understand my rating in this case is biased because simply put outside of a few situation i HATE time travel so not great in my opinion 3/10

c) the actors and actresses well i think they are pretty good from what i have seen 7/10

d) the zords interesting from what i have seen but once more i need to see more

e) this gen was all about the tech but they didn't get outrageous with it so
7/10

f)villains well from what i have seen pretty typical 5/10

g) overall well hmmm 8/10

note in this case don't put too much faith in these ratings i feel i have not seen enough to make these truly meaningful but hey

10 Gen PRWF

a) opening/ending i remember this was decent 6/10

b) the focus it feels somewhat like a return to the original but different so i think the focus is GREAT 10/10

c) the actors/actresses they were decent overall not particually memoriable in my opinion 5/10

d) The Zord ok this is where it falls on its face the animals have things that just to me don't fit at all so 3/10

e) the tech not bad balanced but the tech was enough to assist but not overwhelming the focus which was the spirit animals 7/10

f)Villains they were great 10/10

g) over all the elements came together though not completely 9/10

11th Gen PRNS

a)opening/ending SUPER COOL LOVED THIS GEN MORE THAN I THOUGHT AT FIRST 10/10

b) the focus wow the focus on the ninja elements was SUPER COOL GREAT AND ANYTHING ELSE POSTIVE THAT CAN BE THOUGHT OF 10/10

c) actors/actresses well what else can it say I LOVED THEM I CONNECTED WITH THEM 10/10

d) the zords well typical in my opinion 5/10

e) the tech was wonderfully done well balanced and very well tied into the focus 10/10

f)Villains- the villains were as great as the heroes 10/10(note i apply this to the main villains not the bimbo neices)

g) overall well GREAT 10/10

12th Gen

a) opening/ending ugh this was terrible in my opinion 2/10

b) the focus well this goes back to the beginning as best as it can 6/10

c) actors/actresses ok FOR THE MOST PART good this is EXCEPT JASON DAVID FRANK too much of him it is even commented in the series that he is THE OLDEST LIVING POWER RANGER but overall 7/10

d)the zords again typical 5/10

e)the tech welll again typical 5/10

f) villains decent 7/10

g) overall sighs all the elements of the originals none of the pizzazz 5/10

13th Gen

a) beginning/ending decent not great 6/10

b) the focus UGH A POLICE SQUAD 2/10

c) the zords UGH police themed zords 2/10

d) actors/actresses i connected with them they were decent 6/10

e) the tech not much to say 4/10

f) villains this is where this season shines i like the villains better than heroes

g) overall ok at best 5/10

14th Gen PRMF

a) opening/ending OH YES THIS IS WHERE WE HIT MY COMING BACK TO THE RANGERS SUPER GREAT 10/10

b) the magical focus SUPER GREAT OH YESSS 10/10

c) the zords SUPER GREAT 10/10

d) actors/actresses LOVED THEM CONNECTED WITH THEM HEAVILY (I AM PAGAN) SUPER COOL 10/10

e) tech well not much in terms of tech but what there was was GREAT 10/10

f) the Villains SUPER COOL THEY ADDED DRAMA IN SOME CASES three administrations of villains and all of them WERE SUPER COOL 10/10

g) overall SUPER COOL 10/10

15th Gen

a) opening/ending THE ONLY DECENT PART OF THIS SEASON 6/10

b) the focus WHAT FOCUS IT TRIED TO DIP INTO SOOO MANY GENS IT ENDED UP DOING NONE OF THEM JUSTICE 1/10

c) the zords oh sheesh even the decent zords were not great there was a set of them that reminded me of the space battle ship yamoto when in a certain formation 4/10

d)actors/actresses typical at best 5/10

e) tech was the focus of the series but not great 4/10

f) Villains typical villains come on for the most part they fought each other more than the rangers 3/10

g) over all the worst of the worst 3/10

16th Gen PRJF NOW WE COME TO THE POINT OF THIS ALL!!!

a)open/ending SUPER COOL 10/10

b) focus THE ANIMAL SPIRITS SUPER COOL 10/10

c) the zords SUPER SUPER COOL ESPECIALLY THE RHINO STEEL ZORD(best zord since the white tiger thunder zord either in tiger mode or warrior mode) 10/10

d) actors/actresses SUPER GREAT ACTORS/ACTRESSES (love the one who plays rj the most not your typical leader. casey is a GREAT FIELD COMMANDER) 10/10

e) tech kept up with the strength of the villains and never got out of hand SUPER COOL 10/10

f) VILLAINS wow does this show shine in everything or what 10/10

g) overall do i need to say anything more to praise this show second best gen to date (power rangers mystic force comes out above it BUT ONLY SLIGHTLY) 10/10

I just want to say thanks for taking my question and comments into account (at least, I think you did, as I saw some villain sections and a little bit more info on Turbo). Very good list, and I can definitely tell which seasons you liked best.

after all this time people i am gonna bring something like this back for the new series but not as extensive probably just a comparison between the newest gen and maybe five gens before it i think that is fair to it. TuxKamen27 i will take into account all you have said about villains and such being put into the analysis hope everyone looks forward to this see you soon.
