What's up with the ratings??? This is a VERY solid fantasy film, with VERY well filmed action pieces and VERY good production values. Bridges is as cool as always. You can feel the hand-crafted set pieces.
REALLY surprised at the low ratings.
It has low ratings mostly based from the fans of the book series.
Jeff Bridges was the perfect fit for the spook, I agree that far.
But it was nothing like the books whatsoever.
Hell they even stole the name from a different completely unaltered Series..
This movie is based on The Wardstone Chronicles series, which coincidentally does have a seventh son, but is not the titular Seventh Son of the also Orson Scott Card.. Very confusing for fans of both.. But like you said it is absolutely NOTHING like the Wardstone Chronicles of which it is based,,

I liked this film. I like the books too but I don't think the film is bad because it didn't follow them.

It wasn't a great film it was a slightly above average film with some good action but I will agree Jeff Bridges was good though.
