IT CAN'T BE THAT BAD

feels like Jeff Bridges just finished apologizing for Ryan Reynolds movie R.I.P.P.E.D.

I'm tempted to rent this but the reviews are scathing. Plus, after watching Mos Def in 21 Blocks, I don't think I can take another character whose voice & speech patterns are so bad that I want to ram my head into drywall.

I had my doubts, too, before watching it.

Yes, re: voice & speech patterns.

I did like some of the effects and creatures.

Otherwise, fairly one-dimensional in terms of story line and acting.

Mostly a popcorn-munching Saturday matinee before-the-real-movie-second feature-comes-on, type of film.

It is not THAT bad in my opinion either. It is fast paced, superficial and bit bland, but still nice enough popcorn fun. Everything that has gone wrong in this film has been done worse in other films, and yet again, everything that is good has been done better elsewhere.

I *love* that comment -- great line!

This is a TV movie at best. It could have been good.

I expected it to suck bigtime, and was happy that it just sucked an average amount.
