Why wasn't this a SyFy Channel flick

...instead of a $95M 3D theatrical release? The story is just so bland and cliche! If they'd spent $3M on the same thing at SyFY they would have at least injected some humor or *beep* nonsense craziness that could have made it entertaining!
If Julianne Moore wasn't so f-Ing hot this woulda had less going for it than an episode of Land of the Lost!
