Rubbish!

Stay Away!

A mockery of people's sensibility. Really bad direction - starting from when Arshad's Uncle dies in the car and instead of checking what is wrong with him, he continues to be on the wheel sobing!!

Then there is a sudden random statement from Arshad - 'Gore hamara club destroy karna chahte hai'. Not sure where that came from.

Saw it in London with some of my British (white) friends - all English people are termed 'racist' and against Indians! I am a British Indian too and cannot stomach the stupidity. Like a number of other people, walked out when I couldn't take any more. It is as far fetched as anyone can imagine.

Comparison with 'Chak De' is a joke. 'Chak De' is a master piece and this is junk. Feel sorry for John and Bipasha since they were the only positive thing about this film.

Vivek has once again let everyone down. This is a super flop. A kid could have directed this better.

I agree. This movie is highly jingoistic and sooo stereotypical...and again over representation of sikhs in the whole scene coz bollywood junta can relate to "sardar" punjabis rather than pakistani or non sikh punjabis...who also constitute a fair portion of the ethnic population in England.

And why does Sunny have an Indian accent even tho he is a born n bred brit as he himself claims? Same goes for others...I think the shudh hindi was also overdone, with Shaan's wife being the exception

What a crap movie...These are the movies that give bad name to Bollywood...Dont know why the whole racism issue was involved here....And the footballers look terribly out of shape and worst part they win.....The whole visit to man utd was out of place....Cant see anything good in this movie other than the song...Next stop..a cricket team story....

Utter JUNK. I am from Bangladesh...i saw Goal 1, Goal 2, chak de, lagaan and many more sports flicks...but none is as pathetic as this. The worst was the dialogues. The whole thing seemed as if it was improvised. The "football players" in South HAll looked like they were too old and too fat and not fit enough to even play. Nobody apart from John was any good. There are so many flaws in the story. Just like that one where there is Hindi commentary during the matches and everyone , even the players can hear them. And dont get started on the racism. All English are racists...well if that was true, there would probably be no C.Ronaldo, Evra, Park Jee Sung, Drogba...not even Vikash Dhorasoo(dont know if you hav heard of him). And for everybody, dont go watch this movie, please.

And you know about how these guys tried to hype up the movie saying they were racially abused while filming in UK. well, all i can say is that if that is the kind of crap you make then good for you! Hell, i think maybe those guys watched the crap this crew was making and just could not hold back. i myself wanted to break a few heads after watching whatever length of this *beep* i could tolerate.

I dont think the movie tried to show all english as being racists. Some are, and the movie was dealing with them in an effort to portray the racism issue.

This film sounds like a right laugh. Is it one of those films were you can stick on with your mates have a couple of beers and just laugh and the stupidness of it?

I had it on as background noise while making sandesh for my daughter's birthday tonight when I heard John Abraham say, "you won't play with us because of our color" or some such crap. I subscribe to ZEE TV. I live In California. I may not know everything-but since the last thing I watched was Skins last night,I do believe the world, including dear old England, has progressed a bit. I thought that was established in Bend it Like Beckham -eons ago??? I'm white,Austrian by birth. My husband is an Indian. No wonder I can't get them to watch bollywood movies. It's an uphill battle and crap like this is not making it easier.
