What is Larys "The Gimp" Strong playing at ?

Referring to his little "poison pill" conversation with Alicent where he dropped Rhaenyra into the manure. What is he trying to achieve ? Does he want to bring down the Targaryens even though his father Lord Lyonel Strong is loyal to King Viserys ? Or is he creating chaos like Littlefinger. Or is he plotting for the Hightowers, for Matt Daemon or someone else ?

He couldn't be scheming for himself to become the King could he ? But that would be ridiculous because they would never allow a gimp on the Iron Throne !

I think the Strongs are playing both sides, maybe so they can stay close to power no matter which side wins.

Without getting into book spoilers, he's a Littlefinger-style manipulator with no loyalty, playing all the different sides against each other to gain behind-the-scenes power for himself.

Hmm. Sounds like he needs a lesson in the nature of power from Cersei. She gave one to Littlefinger but he didn't listen.
