what happened to Doug between the junk yard and naked Chow?

He arrives at the junk yard in the Mercedes. Shortly thereafter, naked Chow jumps out of the trunk and starts hitting people. Doug had been in the Mercedes. Where did he go?

He wasn't there. He wasn't seen after they took the shots on the roof until they found him on the roof at the end.

You must be mistaken.

To answer this question, I would have to agree that he was in the Mercedes, while they were at the junkyard. I am not sure if we can assume that. Please tell me how you came to that conclusion.
