my 5 cents

It's not that bad. I would say better than Arrow based on first episode.

1. Not woke. Surprisingly for CW but nothing woke in the show.
2. Decent actors. Even Lois is decent. I used to hate her in Grimm but I guess it was mostly the character. I can't say I like her here but at least I don't hate her.
3. Stupid teen drama. Idiotic kids. I mean ... you just find out your father is Superman and instead of "that sooo fucking coool" and "do we get powers?" they are like "you lied to us!!"
4. As in any CW show a LOT of the drama is around the artificial "you lied to me" even in cases in which the reason for the "lie" (most of the times more like omission than straight out lie) is clear and more than acceptable ...
5. Decent story and a decent villain (so far introduced)
6. Stupid focus on the family and on the drama surrounding the choice ... hundreds may die (maybe even millions) but you need to spend that time with your family - wtf?
7. Special effects: not great but not too bad either.
8. Loved Superman suit ..

Bottom line: not too bad, can evolve in something good (if they don't focus too much on teen and family "drama" but hey they must have something to fill the show with ... like in Arrow).

Later edit: looks like the ratings on rt are quite good AND it had a pretty large audience, if the show continues to deliver without going woke and the ratings/audience stay this high then I guess it could be a signal that "go woke go broke" is a reality.

PS: interesting that they fired a woke writer ...

I stopped watching after about 4 minutes. Thanks to the awful bipolar kid. Not interested in some eye-rolling teen angst drama with dysfunctional Superman/father. Granted, maybe I didn’t give the show a chance, but life is short, CW has a terrible record with DC hero shows, and there are plenty of great vintage TV shows out there. I’ll watch the original The Prisoner, for instance! Free on tubi...
