The Second Season of show just started in the States on the DirecTV Satellite Systems private Channel "The 101 Network".
Just saw the first episode tonight. 22:00 Feb 3, 2010. It looks promising. I look forward to seeing all of it.
I am already a fan of the Network Seven series "City Homicide". Though that is not available on Television in the States, I see episodes of it on the internet.
I suppose they started with season two because it is a prequel to season one. Season three is a prequel to season one and a sequel to season two but it has yet to air in Australia yet. I wonder if DirecTV will wait to show three before one or just continue with one.
Seriously? We are speaking the same language for pete's sake.
If I can understand even the most Texan of American drawls... you can afford us speakers of Queen's English the same courtesy. It's time you learned to understand regional dialects.
My god. ttrek-1 is completely right! If us Aussies can understand you Americans when you speak in pretty much all our favourite shows, surely you should be able to understand us! That just adds fuel to my dad's argument that Americans are idiots! That argument is not mine by the way, but I figured you oughtta know the views of some people here. If I can understand the horrible southern twangs in True Blood, surely you can learn to understand us? Oh, woops, 3 of those southern twangs aren't their natural voices at all... But still... I'm off-topic :)
Not everyone in the USA has trouble understanding what is said on this show. There are over 300 million of us however so naturally there will be some of us that don't and make little effort to do so.
Several Americans interact with people from Australia and New Zealand on a regular basis as well as just about any other country with expats living in the USA which includes countries from all over the globe.
Believe me we don't need anyone to remind us that there are people in other countries that think we are idiots even if the only website you read is imdb you would be reminded of that regularly. Of course anyone that generalizes Americans in that way is the real simple minded person.
I lived in Australia for many years and was married to an Australian for more than 2) years, but since I moved away I have trouble with colloquial Australian speech, especially women. This series isn't too bad, but McLeod's Daughters is nothing but screeching and I cannot follow a word.
