Constant music throughout the show....

Anyone else notice that there is high energy music playing constantly throughout the show?

I like the show, but to me the music makes the story less serious, and it $hit$ me.....

Yes!

And on that, what was the song that was playing about midway through?
If you break down episode 2, there were kinda three 'main' songs:

Eagle Rock - Daddy Cool;

*SOMETHING* involving the lyrics 'get you running' (not sure, I jotted down what lyrics i could pick up) or so forth (rather quick tempo, not sure if I picked it up... had somewhat of a 'Dreadlock Holiday' feel (although a lot quicker, but it had the same 'feel')

And, Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again? - Angels.

If someone could enlighten me to that second song, it would be much appreciated!
I know I've heard it before, it just slips my memory.

THANK YOUUUU!

I thought the soundtrack to the first Underbelly was great. Not overkill or cover up, just fitting, and memorable stuff. Hopefully the new Underbelly will go the same way, I'm willing to wait to be wowed like I was with the first one. Just hope next week's episode gets to the real stuff, not just the boobs! On the subject of music though, one of the songs that stuck in my head may have been the one you're asking about too, I had trouble finding the song listings, as usual with TV shows. It was the one in the Casino, a song called 'Going to the Casino" funny enough, by Philadelphia Grand Jury. It was the one with the line 'what can possibly go wrong" or words to that affect. Great song. Hope the rest of the series see's us all saying 'wow' again.

I know.......... its $hit!
If you were watching the burned copies of the first season in Victoria because of the court case, watching one after another got old very fast!

On another note, I watch it, but if I missed one episode of the show I wouldn't really mind at all...

Thank you OP for showing me that I wasn't alone. The 'background' music was often played at the wrong times. Often I could understand what was being said (and at important times!) because this loud music was just OTT. It was very heavy music and not always necessary. Very annoying.

I was pleased that it reminded me of the song, My Pal by God, I hadn't heard it for years.

No, I mentioned the bisque!

Maybe he would have preferred Beethoven.

loud music throughout the series...
that was very distracting...and also like one poster said "its hard to take these seriously" , when its based on real event.

to tommy_times, i feel the same. they play loud music CONSTANTLY like the whole show is one long music video. to me, it really detracts from the show. if they used music sparingly (death scenes perhaps?) it would have so much more impact, i think. i'm glad that someone else noticed this, because the soundtrack has really been bugging me...

Aussie shows and cinema always use Aussie music to give that authentic Aussie feel - I think it was used for dark humour effect in this series. That made it better IMO.
