WTF ?

OK, I saw this at a friend's place and we turned it off after 40 min. The only reason we lasted this long was because the movie was so hilarious; the acting was stiff at best, the random and constant camera movements and the lame dialogue; revealing everything verbally, not visually. Being a film student, this reminded me of is some of the students movies I've seen in our classes. They aren't necessarily bad, just full of beginner's mistakes which makes them involuntarily funny.

I was therefore surprised to find the track record of the director and that he even has a movie with a descent score here on IMDB. WTF was he thinking?
