Can't you guys appreciate a show that isn't all about racial stereotypes

I've enjoyed all of the Important Things episodes and I'm sure they probably had a racial joke here and there although I can't remember any off the top of my head. But it seems that people are whining for Chappelle to come back (which he won't) just to hear some more "I'm rich bitch" joked and the countless "white people are this", "black people are this", etc. jokes.

I mean don't get me wrong. I loved Chappelle's Show and I own all the DVD's but I don't need a show filled with that same type of humor to make me laugh.

As for Mind of Mencia, I never ever liked that piece of sh!t program. But I know a lot of people did because it followed the same format of ripping on other races and all that bullsh!t.

Now, is Important Things better than Chappelle? No, it is not. And I know that Chappelle did more than just racial jokes which is what made the show so damn great in the first place. However, that's really all the show is remembered for.

Important Things is a good show that could be a great show and if it's on the air long enough, it can reach the level of Chappelle's Show as far as comedy goes but it'll never be as successful because it doesn't have Ashy Larry.

I agree. I liked Chappelle too but in a way I respected him for quitting (even though it seemed like he went kind of crazy) because I think racially stereotypical humor is potentially damaging for race relations in general. Our society is very confused about racial humor. People of all races watched that show and loved quoting it and it was all good, but to me that's what leads to Don Imus type situations.

Aside from that though, to me racial humor gets old pretty fast so it's nice to have a show from a completely different genre of comedy.

just because i dont like "important things" doesn't mean that I automatically want mind of mencia to return from whatever circle of hell it currently inhabits.

i would love to see jon stewart to have an extended program to 45 minutes and a 15 min show cover the remaining time.

I love "Important Things", and loved "Chappelle's Show", but I'm kind of glad it ended.

I never really liked "Mind of Mencia", as it wasn't clever, funny or smart, it was just 30 minutes of Carlos Mencia (*cough, cough* Ned *cough, cough*) randomly screaming things in spanish, shouting "Dee-Dee-Dee!" and doing constant racial and stereotype humor that tried to be topical, but never really was. Plus, a lot of his material was stolen, and his delivery wasn't that good.
