Sequel?
The end made a sequel seem very predictable, when's it coming out?
shareit was a bit of a cliffhanger... who knows...
shareHi,
I am french and they announced that they'll start shooting the serie in October 2009...should be 13 episodes!
It should be broadcasted next year.
Hello,
Does anyone actually have a link that confirms that they are going forward with XIII (a next mini-series like Conspiracy or a TV-series, I don't care which)? The link doesn't have to be in English by the way.
I really hope they continue this, because of course the story doesn't have an ending now and although I had a lot of "been there, done that" feelings with Conspiracy it was well made and I think the source material has a lot of potential to become a great TV series or a string of mini-series, certainly if they can convince Dorff and Kilmer to return. What we have seen now is not that different from things like Bourne/Shooter/24/Manchurian Candidate but I bet the sequel could be much more interesting. We just had to have this (now rather cliché) first part to move on to better things I think.
(SPOILERS)
maybe i'm mistaken, but kilmer's character burned alive.. he can't return

They could always hire another assassin to be the new mongoose.
Ummm isnt there 240 minutes of the show? We are still missing an hour of it. only 180 minutes aired in the U.S.
"And they say I'm loony!"
WHAT? Where's the rest? I wrote this so long ago, I don't know if I watched 180 or 240...
shareYou're sure the claim about it being 240 minutes doesn't just include commercial time or something like that?
I've seen the DVD out here in Belgium by now (hasn't aired on TV here), still no news about a sequel? I'm guessing it's a dead project if there is no news by now.
They shoot the series to be released in 2011.

don't hold your breath. The PS2 videogame ended in a huge cliffhanger and they never made a sequel...bastards.
shareIf you had bothered to read the (vastly superior) comic books, you would have known the ending.
The video game (just like the miniseries) was based on the first five comic books (The Day of the Black Sun, Where the Indian Goes, All the Tears in Hell, SPADS, Red Alert). The series actually consists of 19 (!) (and two spin-off albums, The Mongoose and Irena).
The comics are way more complex than this silly adaptation (Steve Rowland/Ross Tanner are just two of XIII's identities; he in fact has over a dozen), way better written and way more thrilling. And the Mongoose isn't such an incompetent thwat like Val Kilmer is in the series.
When this series has its sequel, they'll probably base it on books 6-8, maybe 6-12. But that will be it. Even then there are 7 more comics to film (though, granted, you could skip 13 and 18). And the fate of nr. I is only decided in the 19th one (The Final Round).
So, basically, what I'm saying is: read the comic books if you want to know the real storyline. If Wikipedia is to be believed, they'll finally be released in English this year for those of you who have no knowledge of European languages.
Actually, there is a 13 episode series planned. I am not sure when it will air, but I AM hoping they re-air the mini-series before they add it to the network.
shareThe new series went to camera today. Thirteen episodes - set to air in 2011 in Canada and France (so far).
